On Monday President Bush commuted the sentences of former border agents Ramos and Compean, who were sentenced to prison for 11 and 12 year sentences, due to pressure mostly from conservatives, but even from a few liberals, all of whom felt the punishment was much too harsh. It is too bad he waited so long to do what should have been done ages ago, being that so much damage has been done to the lives of the prisoners and their families, but we consider this wonderful news and wish the best for both Ramos and Compean.
