Gianna Jessen doesn't appreciate Barack Hussein Obama's voting record regarding the IL Born Alive Infants Protection Act, in which he voted 4 times to let babies who survive abortions die. And the biggest reason is that she was a survivor of a botched saline abortion herself 31 years ago. Although it left her with cerebral palsy, today she lives an active life, runs marathons, and makes public appearances to bring to light Obama's true record on the matter. She also has a website called Born Alive Truth which happens to be accepting donations for this very worthy cause.
Gianna has been making the rounds on radio talk shows, appearing Tuesday on Sean Hannity and Wednesday on Laura Ingraham, both of whom found her story quite moving. "Truth is truth and we gotta get it out there," she exclaimed on Laura's show. She then related the story of how she met her birth-mother. "It was an awful time,..." she started. Gianna went on to say that her mother approached her at an event, identified herself, and said "so what do you think of that?!?" Gianna, full of the Holy Spirit, told her birth-mother she was forgiven..

Update (h/t Michelle Malkin)
Obama fires back with a very slanted attack ad:
And here is Gianna's response:
“Mr. Obama is clearly blinded by political ambition given his attack on me this week. All I asked of him was to do the right thing: support medical care and protection for babies who survive abortion – as I did 31 years ago. He voted against such protection and care four times even though the U.S. Senate voted 98-0 in favor of a bill identical to the one Obama opposed. In the words of his own false and misleading ad, his position is downright vile. Mr. Obama said at the recent Saddleback Forum that the question of when babies should get human rights was above his pay grade. Such vacillation and cowardice would have left me to die if his policies were in place when I was born. Thank God they were not.”
That's gotta be as scary for Barak Obama as it was for Pat Schroeder: a fetus with attitude.
ReplyDeleteBut Gianna was lucky. A nurse recognized her as a baby, not just a fetus ex-utero, and sent her to the NICU.
It is in the case of Ximenia Renearts that we more clearly see Obama's attitude in action. Ximenia's mother underwent an abortion, thought her fetus was dead, then showed up at a hospital in pain. The staff at the hospital elected to respect her choice, to refrain from further burdening her. They stuck the fetus in a bedpan. They left the fetus, cold and alone, in a closet. It wasn't until another hospital employee mistook the fetus for a baby that care was sought.
Ximenia's adoptive parents sued on her behalf, arguing that since she'd been born alive, she was a baby and entitled to care.
BC Minister of Health, Michelle Stewart, was dismissive of the issue of infants born live during abortions, commenting, "As you know, this Ministry is very much in favor of giving women choices about their reproductive health." British Columbia's Chief Coroner Larry Campbell included a letter in a report on such live births, and dismissed them as to be expected in abortion and therefore outside the purview of BC coroners, who only get involved if a death is "unexpected".
This is the stand Obama took. That providing care for babies like Ximenia was too much of a burden on the mother's choice.
If you're okay with that -- if you think that the wrongdoing was by the people who provided Ximenia with care, not by the ones who left her in a bedpan to die -- then by all means, vote for Barak Obama.
As for Ximenia herself, she is too profoundly disabled to speak out. About anything. Which is lucky for Obama. One less fetus with attitude to challenge his assertion that the proper thing to do with them is stick them in a closet and wait for them to die.
Bravo to grannygrump and to Gianna!
ReplyDeleteLenin allegedly once said, "If you want to make an omelet, you've got to break a few eggs," (or words to that effect) to justify the harshness and brutality of the Bolshevik revolution and subsequent treatment of Russian citizens.
This appears to be the heartless philosophy of today's knee-jerk "pro-choice" proponents (as well as supporters of fetal stem cell research), including Obama,
Botched abortion victim (breathing, writhing, crying with pain)? Put "it" in a bedpan, or on a back shelf somewhere where I can't see or hear it, and just let "it"....well, expire. Horrendous! (But then we can't offend our "pro-choice" base, can we?)
Obama's first choice as Surgeon General, should he (God forbid) become president? "Doctor Death" from Michigan, or a great-grandson of "Dr." Mengele from Auschwitz.
